This Privacy Notice explains how Lovera (“Lovera,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use our AI character-chat and virtual-companion application (the “App”).
1. Information you choose to provide
- Chat content. We process the messages you send to an AI character and the replies generated in response. On a voice call, only the text produced from your speech is included.
- Profile and preferences. If you set a nickname, choose or upload an avatar, or save a character, the App stores that information on your device. It is not sent to the AI provider.
- User-submitted media. If you upload a profile photo, the App stores that image on your device to display your avatar. It is not sent to our AI provider. If you use a voice call, the App sends your speech to the speech-recognition service on your device so it can be turned into text. That text is then handled like any other chat message. The App does not keep the recording. The character’s spoken replies are generated on your device from the text of the reply. The current version of the App does not let you send images, video, or audio files in a chat.
Please avoid placing sensitive personal information in conversations unless you are comfortable sharing it to receive the service.
2. Information collected through use
Lovera does not collect crash reports, analytics, approximate location, feature-interaction logs, or diagnostic events. When you send a chat, your device’s IP address is visible to Moonshot because the request comes from your phone. Other profile and chat information stays on your device.
3. How we use information
We may use information to:
- generate AI character replies for the messages you send;
- keep chat history, your profile, and saved characters on your device;
- hide a message on your device if you report it;
- meet a legal obligation if one applies to information we actually hold.
4. AI conversations
Lovera uses Moonshot AI’s Kimi API (api.moonshot.cn), model kimi-k2.6, to generate character replies. Each request sends the selected character’s settings and the most recent 10 saved messages in that conversation. Voice-call replies are sent the same way once your speech has been turned into text. Lovera does not run its own server and does not keep another copy of the chat there. Moonshot states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models. It deletes that content immediately after the reply only if Zero Data Retention is enabled for the account. Lovera has not confirmed that this setting is on.
AI characters are fictional and their replies are generated automatically. Do not treat them as professional, medical, legal, financial, or emergency advice. Avoid sharing information you would not want processed by the service or its providers.
5. When information may be shared
We do not sell personal information for money. We may disclose limited information:
- to Moonshot AI, when you send a chat or a voice-call message, as described above;
- to the speech-recognition service on your device, when you use a voice call, so your speech can be turned into text;
- when you direct us to share information or use a feature that requires it;
- to comply with a valid legal request or applicable law;
- to investigate fraud, security issues, or violations of our terms; or
- in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or transfer of all or part of our business, subject to appropriate safeguards.
6. Storage and retention
Chat history, your profile, avatar photo, and saved characters are stored only on your device. Lovera does not set an automatic expiration period. You can delete one character’s conversation with Clear chat on the chat page, or delete all conversations with Clear All on the Chats page. Uninstalling the App removes this locally stored information. Lovera does not keep another copy in an account or on its own server. Content already sent to Moonshot is handled as described above.
7. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may be able to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; or lodge a complaint with a regulator. You can also adjust device permissions and stop using the App.
To make a privacy request, contact us using the details in Section 11. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
8. International processing
Chat requests are sent to Moonshot AI in China. Other information stays on your device. Lovera does not apply a separate international-transfer safeguard beyond sending those requests over HTTPS.
9. Children and age requirements
Lovera is intended for adults aged 18 and over. The App is not designed for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
10. Security
Chat records and profile information remain in the App’s private storage on your device. Requests sent to Moonshot use HTTPS. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
11. Changes and contact
We may revise this Notice as the App changes or legal requirements evolve. We will post the updated version and revise the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how information is handled, we will provide additional notice where required.
